Lent, the solemn liturgical season when Catholics prepare for Easter through penance, fasting, almsgiving, self-denial and prayer, begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6th. Ash Wednesday Mass will be offered at St. Boniface at 7:30 a.m., St. John at 5:30 p.m., and finally Holy Rosary at 7:30 p.m. (The Church's requirements for fasting and abstinence on Ash Wednesday and Fridays during Lent can be found here.)
During the entire season of Lent, daily masses will be moved to early evening and will be immediately followed by the Stations of the Cross. Mass will be at Medicine Lodge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evenings throughout Lent. The same schedule will be followed at Kiowa on Thursday evenings. Wednesday evenings' Mass schedule will be the same, but will be at Sharon during March and at Medicine Lodge during April. Mass will be at Sharon at 5:30 p.m. every Friday except Good Friday.
During Holy Week, the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord's Supper will be offered at 7:00 p.m., April 18th, in Medicine Lodge. On April 19th, Good Friday services will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Sharon, 5:30 p.m. in Kiowa, and 7:30 p.m. in Medicine Lodge. The Easter Vigil Mass will be celebrated April 20th at 8:30 p.m. at Medicine Lodge. On Easter Sunday, April 21st, Mass will be at 8:30 a.m. in Sharon and 10:30 a.m. in Kiowa.
